I think we are the ONLY bike shop doing anything in SW mich. I just shipped a couple tubes to a gamut locally.
For the love of bicycles please share, comment, like etc so this gets out to the community! We are willing to do sanitary hand offs outside the shop, no human contact.
Will professionally pack up and ship any bike in stock. Everything is getting wiped down! If you need parts, a bike, or advice Hit Us Up!!
More pics and info available . This is just the first batch. Will take Credit Cards/ Debit over phone, PayPal , Venmo, FB Pay.
As of today (3/27) Swift will be closing until 4/13 for the safety of the public and our employees. We tried to remain open with precautions but it seems to be impossible. BUT we are not completely closing.
*****My goal is to put all complete bikes ( new and used) of FB , Craigslist, eBay, letgo. Local pick up will be available, plus I can ship. ( discount for local pick up)
***** We will be excepting payment via PayPal, Venmo, and other forms of electronic payments.
***** We will except and return REPAIRS on Fridays from 3 to 6 PM. It’s not ideal, but we are the only bike shop doing repairs in Kalamazoo.
We will be open 1 to 5 today to let people pick up their repairs. Thank you for your understanding and say safe out there. Hopefully we make it through this and I don’t have to go get a job as a door greeter at Walmart!!!!!
So here’s where Swift stands. I believe we fall under Section 8 f: Transportation and logistics.
We CANNOT completely close. We will not be able to afford to open back up.
🦠 Starting 3/23 we will be open by appointment only. We ask you must call to drop off /pick up repairs. We will be excepting repairs in , and sanitizing them. We will be allowing test rides and selling bikes but it will just be a little different.
🦠 Curbside service will be available, I will ship bikes as well. Even locally.
🦠 Limiting hours to 12-6 all week. Same weekend hours
🦠 My boy and I ( Ryan, owner) will not be there much at all. For obvious reasons. So please work with our limited talented staff.
🦠 If for some reason things change we will keep you all updated!
Here’s an email I just received from Surly....
Greetings Fellow Humanoids of Surly,
As we’re all aware, the unwinding reality of the COVID-19 pandemic is creating uncertainty and instability for nearly everyone around the globe. We all face very serious and obvious concerns regarding our health and well-being, and many are also experiencing reverberating effects, including the loss of income and valuable support systems.
Facts are facts: We’re just a bike brand made up of people a lot like you. We’re not medical or disease experts, and we’re not writing you today to offer advice about how to protect your health or your community’s health. There are actual experts for that.
We are writing you today to ask that you not forget about your local bike shop during this time. You know, the shop down the street with those friendly faces you enjoy talking bikes with. The shop that organizes the Wednesday-night rides you look forward to each week. The bike shop where your neighbor from around the corner works to support their family. Like most small businesses, bike shops depend on their local community’s support to keep the shop lights on and food on their employees’ tables.
If you’re in a position to support your local bike shop, whether it’s a purchase large or small or a tune-up for the upcoming riding season, please consider doing so. Now more than ever, your help will make a difference.
